Steeped in Cornish history, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and refreshingly unspoilt, Coverack is a picturesque Cornish fishing village centred around its historic harbour, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The name Coverack is derived from the Cornish Porth’Kovrek meaning cove of the stream.

Historic Harbour
Coverack’s historic harbour was constructed in 1724 to accommodate the growing pilchard fleet and became the centre for pilchard processing on this side of the Lizard. It is a working harbour to this day and you can still see the fishing boats going out to sea and catching fresh fish for our menu!

Coverack Village
Situated a short 0.3 mile walk from the hotel, Coverack’s pretty village is centred around it’s harbour with some of the old fishing cottages still retaining their thatched roofs. The village has a church, a couple of gift shops, a pub and cafes all with stunning views across the water.

Coverack Bay
Coverack Bay is a spectacular, crescent shaped tidal beach with sparkling aquamarine waters. It is accessed via stone steps with the beach disappearing at high tide! Dogs are welcome but must be kept on their lead between April and October.

Watersports
Coverack Windsurfing Centre is situated next to the harbour and is open from 1st May to 5th October.
Catering for all standards of windsurfer, from complete beginners to RYA Advanced Plus windsurfers, the centre offers RYA windsurfing tuition and wing scheme tuition as well as equipment, kayaking and paddle boarding hire.

Terence Coventry Sculpture Park
Situated approximately a 1.5 mile walk from The Bay Hotel, the Sculpture Park is free to enter all year round. There are usually 25 - 30 sculptures on display exhibited across 3 meadows set against a spectacular coastal backdrop.
